From the Mailbag: Real Customers Share their Experience

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Just consider this like those Geico ads for car insurance.  We will give voice to our customers by presenting some of their reasons they decided to make a purchase with us.  In their own words….

“I found your site through a google search for towel warmers.  I decided to order from you because comparatively, you had the best price. I liked that you gave specific information and access to installation instructions. I liked the ease of using the site. I would recommend you to others.”

“I did an On-line search for the foot massage tool by brand. I made a purchase with you possibly because I saw the security logos. You are more prompt in responding and shipping than other online purchases. I would recommend you.  And I am also happy with the Sirius Foot Massager.”

“I thought the look of the comfortchannel.com site was very attractive.  I actually got to it by looking at a gift buying website for aromatherapy neck wraps.  The experience was easy and as easy as any others that I have used.  The Warm whiskers neck wrap that I bought was just as I imagined it would be and I would definitely recommend the Comfortchannel to others.”

Just a sample of the various reasons, whether it is price, security, or site layout. We work very hard to provide a personal level of service and would love to have others shop with us.  Here is a Comfortchannel.com promotional code for extra motivation.  Use the discount code: Comfortchannel5 for 5% off your order, no limit.

Water Aerobic Exercising is a great way to get a total-body workout. And just about anyone can do it.

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

A Denver Post article recently highlights the benefits of exercising in the water. Especially for those with arthritis and other ailments, swimming is sometimes the only way to stay in shape and find relief. Exercise professionals recommend swimming because it provides a total-body, low- impact workout involving all major muscle groups with a very low risk of injury to the joints and connective tissues. Stationary swimming can be excellent for this exercise. At the same time, the heart and lungs are treated to anaerobic and aerobic workouts, which help with weight control, blood pressure and stress reduction.

Since water has buoyancy and viscosity properties, Aquatic therapy can help patients recover from surgery, injury or neurological disorders. Buoyancy supports body weight, which is helpful to those with arthritis or with other joint disorders; viscosity creates resistance, which allows for improvements in strength. The resistance applied to the muscles during aquatic exercise improves muscle strength with low impact on the joints compared with regular gym exercises. Swimming in water with a temperature of 93-95 degrees promotes relaxation of muscles and helps decrease pain.  Hospital are beginning to install underwater treadmills, which are used for neurological motor relearning and gait retraining.

Water exercise can be beneficial for people suffering from arthritis. The article noted that the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program recommends and offers full-body workouts year round. Participants do not need to know how to swim, They walk in water, use water aerobic belts, and perform other exercises using water weights designed to increase strength and endurance. The article ended with a person mentioning that people can kick, pull, float and enjoy all kinds of variety without jeopardizing their joints which makes swimming the ideal sport, regardless of ability or disability.

Benefits of Using Evaporative Coolers in the Workplace

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

In many cases, evaporative coolers are a better solution than mechanical refrigeration systems because they are more economical to operate and maintain and do not use environmentally sensitive and costly refrigerants. The Pro-Kool evaporative cooler requires little space, has a low initial cost, is inexpensive and simple to operate and requires minimal scheduled maintenance. Due to the design and construction of the cooling pads, cooling efficiency is normally maintained near optimum throughout the life of the pads, approximately two seasons.

HOW EVAPORATIVE COOLING WORKS

Evaporative cooling is the same process your body uses to cool itself. When you perspire, and air moves across your skin, a portion of the perspiration (water) evaporates. Evaporation requires heat to change liquid water-to-water vapor and this heat is taken from your skin, producing the cooling effect. In an evaporative cooler, the cellulose cooling pads take the place of your skin, water instead of perspiration wets them and a fan moves the air. The air blows across the cooling pads and evaporates moisture. Heat is drawn from the pads and the air, dropping the air temperature and producing the cooling effect. The cooled air is then forced through a building or space and displaces the warm air out building openings, cooling the surroundings. In addition, air velocity increases the cooling effect as it moves over the skin of people in the airflow path. Pro-Kool evaporative coolers are portable and use the latest technology to provide large volumes of cool air, efficiently and inexpensively for cooling small to medium size areas. Simply adding more units can accommodate larger areas. With proper sizing and application, a Pro-Kool evaporative cooler can lower the effective air temperature by up to 20°. Even in high humidity, the efficiency of the Pro-Kool evaporative cooler provides effective cooling.

Quick Tips for Training Your Dog with a Dog Training Collar

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Before Training Your Dog with training collars, such as the Sport Dog Training Collar, or pet control systems, it is best to have a plan and some understanding about the best approach for dog training. You will have the most success using a remote dog shock collar trainer if you always remember to teach a command before trying to reinforce the command with a remote trainer. We recommend that you refer to the training guide provided with the electronic dog collar before training with the remote dog collar trainer. Your training will be easier and proceed faster if you always keep the following training tips in mind:

  • Eliminate one misbehavior or teach one obedience command at a time. If you move too fast with the training, your dog may become confused.
  • Be consistent. Give your dog a tone and/or stimulation with each misbehavior.
  • Do not overcorrect your dog. Use as few stimulations as possible to train your dog.
  • Restrict your dog from situations in which he has a history of misbehaving unless you can supervise him and use the remote dog training collar for applying tone or stimulation.
  • If you notice one situation in which your dog misbehaves repeatedly, set up this situation as a training session. This will dramatically increase your chances of success.
  • If your dog has a timid reaction to the tone or stimulation (especially the first couple of times), do not be alarmed. Redirect his attention to a simple and appropriate behavior (i.e. a known command, such as “Sit”).
  • Never use electric dog training collars to correct or eliminate any form of aggressive behavior. If your dog exhibits such behavior, contact a professional trainer. Aggression in dogs is the result of many factors – it may be a learned behavior or it may be brought on as a result of fear. Another factor contributing to aggression in dogs is social dominance. Every dog is different.

At this point, your remote dog training collar is ready to use.

  • Tips for Choosing an Outdoor Misting Fan For the Workplace

    Monday, July 21st, 2008

Gathering the tips from several experts sites around the web, there are several suggestions to consider prior to choosing the outdoor misting fan. The situation is especially worse for those working outdoors or inside the metal workshop in the southern states. Extreme heat and humidity, when not properly managed, can cause dehydration, stroke, and even death. Elderly people and young children are especially susceptible to the effects of intense summer temperatures but, in most cases, they are not the ones laboring in the sun all day. Responsible employers need to provide workers with a safe and comfortable working environment. As the name implies, evaporative cooling works by evaporating water in the air stream

In some areas, it is not uncommon to hear about farm workers adversely affected by heat stroke and dehydration. It happens a lot more than you might think. In many cases, heat stroke and exhaustion in the agricultural sector can be avoided by making a reasonable investment in some of our outdoor misting fans. While it’s not exactly practical to try to cool an outdoor work space of any great size, our portable outdoor misting fans can provide your farm workers with relief from the heat in the area they happen to be working in. The outdoor misting fans can keep an area up to 1000 square feet cool enough to keep employees happy, healthy, and productive.

If you are in the business of raising livestock, you should also consider how you can benefit from the technology behind outdoor misting fans. One of the Agriculture experts recommended that when you are transporting your livestock during the summer, consider providing them with a reprieve from the heat with an outdoor misting fan. A recent business partner, Cool Draft Inc have worked with countless businesses to design and implement an evaporative cooling system to meet their particular needs, and we are confident that we can help you too! Please take some time to explore the rest of our fine products, and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Stay cool!
