This Week: Vacuum Cleaners Best Picks

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Are you interested in learning about vacuum cleaners and the brands that people are searching for. Recently AOl covered this in their hot search blog. They noted that Dyson Vacuums came in at the top of our list. Generally, all the manufacturers, including Hoover have designed upright vacuum cleaners that are great for people who need some allergy relief. Most of Hoover vacuums have HEPA filters built within the machine that capture allergy symptom inducing particles in the home.

Need Cervical Neck Traction? Extreme Skateboarding Big Air Competitors do

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Sitting here tonight and Watching X Games on Espn.  The footage is of the Skateboard Big Air contest and the skaters are flying. These guys fly three stories into the air and miss the landing.  Skateboarder Jake Brown made a return to the X Games Big Air mega ramp this year after a terrifying spill last year. After a pretty standard bail, this one guy almost breaks his neck. Described as the “narliest slam ever” , Danny Way limps off the scene, but comes back for another run after coming immediately back after a medical exam.  Another competitor did break his neck performing dangerouse big air stunts. What do you do when you have a hurt neck? Some doctors recommend a cervical neck traction device.

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

With school right around the corner, kids shopping for new clothes, and stores pitching the latest fashions for laptop backpacks, ergonomic backpacks, and womens computer notebook bags, we thought it would be appropriate to offer a few tips on Backpack Safety

#1 Choose a school backpack with wide padded should straps and a padded back.
#2 Pack light
#3 Organize the backpack to use all of its compartments
#4 Pack heavier items closes to the center of the back
#5 The backpack should never weigh more than 10 to 20 percent of the students body weight
#6 Always use both shoulder straps
#7 Slinging a backpack over one shoulder can strain muscles. Wearing a backpack on one shoulder may also increase the curvature of the spine.
