Another Comfort Meal: Tuna Salad made Tastier

It is no surprise to people that have friends over for dinner, that the guests tend to hang out in the kitchen with the host.  It is because the kitchen exudes comfort and childhood memories of family gatherings.  Well here is a recipe for a simple dinner for a small dinner party of four (four servings). No need for meat grinders or meat slicers.

 

1. Rub tuna steaks with 1 teaspoon olive oil and sprinkle with ½ teaspoon each salt and pepper. Set aside.

 

2. For the dressing, combine lime juice, honey, remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil sesame oil , ginger, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt in a bowl. Whick the combined ingredients.

 

3. Prepare to cook (we have some great deals on cookware; coupon codes : comfortchannel5): Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add tuna cook 3 minutes without disturbing. Turn and cook 2 minutes more or to desired degree of doneness. Transfer to a cutting board slice into ½ inch thick pieces, place 1.5 cups greens on each of 4 plates. Top each salad with ¼ of the sliced tuna add even amounts of snap peas scallions, and sesame seeds, drizxelevenly with dressing.

 

Serving size if one fillet. And ¼ salad.

 

The prep time is 15 minutes. Cooks 5 minutes. Makes 4 servings. Need 4 ahi tuna steaks (yellowfin or ahi, no bluefin). 1 inch thick. 3 teaspoons of virgin olive oil.,  3 tablespoons of lime juice. 4 teaspoons honey, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil.  ½ teaspoon minces ginger, 6 cups of salad greens, 1.5 cups of sugar snap peas, trimmed, ½ cups thiny sliced scallions. 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds.

Since recent statistics from several leading retailers indicate Americans may finally beginning to shop again, it may mean that they will once again be short on time to cook.  Hopefuly they are shopping at several online network of retail stores. If you are one of those persons shopping online for deals, then you may be looking for a quick desert this weekend. Here is a nice berry treat that works well year round and does not mess up many kitchen gadgets, cookware, or appliances.

 

Prep 5 minutes

Cook 7 minutes

Stand 5 minutes

Makes 4 servings

 

2 cyps water

2.5 cups Blackberries

1/3 cup turbinado or granulates sugar

2 ( 1 inch pieces peeled ginger thinky sliced.

2 (3 inch) trips lime zest

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

2 cups blueberries

2 cups lemon sorbet.

 

Bring 2 cups of water to a book with 12. cusp blackberries, sugar, ginger and lime zest to a boil over medium high heat in a sauce pan, stirring just until sugar is dissolved  boil for five minutes. Remove saucepan from heat. And let stand, covered for five minutes. Pour mixture through a fine strainer set over a bowl, and covered for five minutes. Pour mixture through a fine strainer set over the bowel don’t press the solids,. Reserver the syrop and discard the blackberries, then stir in the lime juice. Add the remaining blackberries to the syrup and serve over ½ cup lemon sorbet.
