WHICH IQ AIR HEALTHPRO HOME AIR PURIFIER IS BEST FOR HOME USE?

The standard IQ Air HealthPro™ Home Air Purifier is recommended for Allergy Sufferers without any particular need for gas or odor control. These home Air Purifiers do not contain a gas and odor filter, which makes IQ Air HEPA filter replacement affordable and maximizes air delivery. IQ Air has now released the IQ Air HealthPro Compact which is a more portable air cleaner for smaller rooms. These are advanced air cleaning devices for the home and office.

The IQ Air HealthPro Plus Home Air Purifier contains a V5-Cell Air Filter for the control of gaseous contaminants and odors. The HealthPro Plus Air Purifier is recommended to Asthma Sufferers, since their respiratory systems are often sensitized to vapor irritants and odors as well as allergens. IQ Air HealthPro Plus Home Air Filtration System is also recommended for allergy sufferers who require extra protection against minor gaseous pollutants or odors. For elevated levels of gaseous pollutants and odors, or for individuals suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), the IQ Air GC and CGX Series Industrial Air Filtration Systems are ideal.

In their standard configuration, the IQ Air Health Pro Series Home Air Purifiers clean the air by recirculation. For individuals that suffer from pollen or other outdoor allergens, we recommend the use of the InFlow W125 Vacuum Duct Assembly. This accessory converts any IQ Air Air Filtration System from an air cleaner that filters air within a room (recirculation) to an air cleaner that draws outside air (ventilation) and filters it before releasing it into the room. This can eliminate the need for the opening of windows for ventilation and can build up a slight positive pressure that reduces the leakage of outdoor allergens through cracks in doors and windows.

In 2002 IQ Air achieved one of its most important milestones by becoming the only air filtration system to pass the world's most stringent HEPA filter test: EN 1822 HEPA. The test certifies a filter's absolute minimum efficiency for all particles. Until this time HEPA filters were traditionally only measured down to 0.3 microns. (90% of all particles found in homes and offices are smaller than 0.3 microns.) The EN 1822 test confirmed that IQ Air home air cleaners capture 100 times more particles than conventional HEPA cleaners.

Independent Consumer Product Test for IQ Air Air HealthPro Series Purifiers

Germany's leading Independent Consumer Product Test Magazine Stiftung Warentest in 1998 recommended the IQ Air HealthPro Plus Air Purifier over ten competing international Air Cleaners. It was the only model to receive the top mark "Very Good" for the removal or airborne particulates.

Test Setup
Each air filtration unit was switched on in a test chamber with an air volume of 706 cubic feet. A measuring device then recorded the amount and size of cigarette smoke particles generated by the mechanical smoking of filterless cigarettes removed from the air after a given period of time. The readings recorded particles between .3 and 10 microns (one micron = one thousandth of a millimeter). Therefore minuscule, possibly allergy-causing particles were counted.

Results
After 15 minutes, the IQ Air HealthPro Plus removed 85% of all airborne particles from .5 to 1.5 microns in size from the air. The best of the rest of the units tested removed only 50% of the particles. The best air cleaning effect for airborne particles was achieved by the IQ Air HealthPro Plus Air Purifier. Filtration for particulates was rated highest at "Very Good" and for filtration efficiency of gases was rated next highest at "Good".
