The EV Rider Recreation Scooters come in all sizes and shapes. You can choose the scooter that fits your needs, from a compact folding electric bike to a heavy duty cargo carrier. The electric bikes and scooters were designed with the urban commuter in mind. The heavy duty three and four wheelers can serve many needs around the house, on the farm, commercial use, in factories, warehouses and for fun.

Questions
I am looking for a replacement scooter that uses FAA-approved batteries that I can drive to the gate, then fold it up, and have it stored in the cargo area of the airplane along with the baby strollers. Do your EV Rider scooters meet this requirement?
Answer: Yes.

All Universal Power (Universal Battery) sealed lead acid batteries are considered non-hazardous and for purposes of transportation by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), International Civil Aviation Administration (ICAA), The International Air Transportation Association (IATA), and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Regulations (IMDG). They are considered non-hazardous by passing the Vibration Test and Pressure Differential Teas as required by the DOT in 49 CFR 173.159(d). They are also considered to be non-hazardous by both ICAO and IATA by exceeding the requirements of Special Provisions “A48” and “A67” as defined by both organization’s 1997 handbooks.

EV Rider batteries are authorized for transportation on deck or under deck storage on either a passenger or cargo vessel by passing the Vibration and Altitude Performance Tests described in the 1992 Edition of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.

The only shipping requirements for these batteries are that they are shipped in a condition that would protect them from short circuits and that they are securely packages so as to withstand conditions normal to transportation. For transportation by a consumer, in or out of a device, they are unregulated thus requiring no additional special handling or packaging.

All of EV Rider lead acid batteries and their outside packaging are labeled NON-SPILLABLE per 49 CFR 173.159(d). If a customer repackages the batteries either as batteries or components of another product you must label the outer package per 49 CFR 173.159(d).
