They have nearly twice the filter containment media as the IQAir® GC Series Air Purifiers. The GCX VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) Air Purifier offers Advanced Air Cleaning for control of these VOCs, including several Methylic-based flamable Solvents and Chloric-based Gaseous chemicals (see below). In addition, there is a wide range of Gas and Odor Control - such as for tobacco smoke - effective for those who suffer (MCS) Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.

This is IQ Air's highest capacity advanced Air Cleaning and Volatile Organic Chemical Control Air Purifier. It works very efficiently for the removal of a wide range of gaseous pollutants such as some Methylic-based Solvents, Chloric-based Chemicals and Vaporous Acids. Several of these univalent radical organic compounds are extremely flamable and poisonous.
The main difference between the High Volume GCX and its smaller sibling the GC IQ Air® Air Purifiers is, that the GCX contains 25 pounds of gas-phase media while the GC Series contains 12 pounds. In addition the GCX Series features larger pre- and post-particle filters. As a result the maximum air delivery of the GCX is about 20% higher than that of the GC.
Featuring Gas Cartridge Technology, the IQ Air® GCX High Capacity VOC Air Purifier uses four filter cartridges that hold up to 25 pounds of gas-phase media. The long cylindrical shape of these cartridges allows for optimum contact between the air and Extruded Specialty Activated Carbon Gas-Phase media, which ensures high removal efficiency. The large surface area of the cartridges enables high air-flow rates.
Customized Vapor, Gas and Odor Control is achieved by the IQ Air® GCX VOC Air Purifier, which is specialized for specific Volatile Organic gaseous contaminants and odors. Just like a professional gas mask, IQ Air® Systems advanced design maximizes filter efficiency for different gases and odors by offering the right filter cartridge. While gas and odor control is a particular strength of these systems, the GC Series also offers excellent filtration efficiency for particles.
These High-Efficiency Particulate Filtration GCX Industrial Air Cleaners complement the gaseous filtration process by removing over 97% of particles before they can reach the gas-phase media. This increases the efficiency and life of the gas removing "media" by preventing the pores from clogging. The GC units' overall filtration efficiency for particles is 97% at .3 microns. The post filter is electro statically charged to trap particulate pollutants and microorganisms (bacteria and viruses).
With its large fan motor, IQ Air® GCX VOC Air Purifiers produce more clean air with less noise by having the fan motor located after all filter stages. IQ Air® air treatment systems have the fan in the center, in-between the noise absorbing filters. The IQ Air® centrifugal fan is individually balanced and uses steel ball bearings outlasting other fans by years.
IQ Air® Purifiers provide a choice of up to six fan speeds, allowing you to select the ideal performance-to-sound ratio. The thoughtful design avoids drafts by evenly returning cleaned air through a large 320° vented diffuser.
IQ Air® GCX VOC Emissions Control and Abatement Air Purifiers now utilize a completely computer-redesigned "red label" radial fan. The flow-optimized fan features a revolutionary 7-blade design, versus the previous 11-blade. Increased size and aerodynamic shaped fan blades results in a performance boost. The results? Increased energy efficiency and air delivery at most fan speed levels, while running even quieter than previous models.
The Intelligent Filter Life Monitor Control Panel (see above) takes actual use, speed settings and air quality conditions into account assuring maximum filter yield and performance. The Life Monitor Menu (pictured above) shows the remaining life of each individual cylinder filter, down to the hour! Filter Status LEDs also change color from green to orange to red to signal filter replacement. A revolutionary modular tower design, which snaps open without tools to allow access to all filters in seconds. IQAir® Systems feature patented triple-sealing technology which improves efficiency dramatically.
Each IQ Air® GCX VOC Emissions Control and Abatement Air Purifiers can be programmed to run automatically. Set the unit to run during business or office hours or program it in your bedroom to activate after you have reached deep slumber. Each IQAir® Air Filtering System comes with a remote control which allows you to turn the unit on and off, select the fan speed and activate the timer.
IQ Air® tests and individually certifies every IQAir® VOC Air Purifier. Each unit is tested for particle filtration efficiency, filter leakage and air delivery and is issued with a Certificate of Performance, detailing the test results.
