The McMurdo Pains Wessex Precision 406 GPS EPIRB adds GPS to the standard Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon. The beacon transmits a 406 MHz signal to satellites which alert rescue services. A second 121.5 MHz transmitter in the McMurdo Pains Wessex Precision 406 GPS EPIRB, along with GPS, allows searchers to pinpoint your exact position quickly after arriving in the area. The McMurdo Pains Wessex Precision 406 GPS EPIRB also has a xenon strobe light that aids in night time and poor visibility rescues. The manual Precision EPIRB is push-button activated and comes with a quick-release housing, while the automatic EPIRB activates upon immersion in water, and comes with a float free housing. Both McMurdo Pains Wessex Precision 406 GPS EPIRB models come with a 5-year warranty and a 6-year battery allowing the EPIRB to transmit for a minimum of 48 hours.
