User Tip
Fire Sense recommends placing an inch or two of ordinary sand at the bottom of your fire bowl. This will dissapate heat generated in the base bowl and surrounding floor area. The sand will also protect and extend the useful life of your firepit. Make sure there is sufficent air space between the sand the steel fire grate for proper burning.

The Pewter base is a metal alloy, traditionally between 85 and 99 percent tin, with the remainder consisting of 1-15 percent copper, acting as a hardener, with the addition of lead for the lower grades of pewter, which have a bluish tint.
