Detailed Product Description:
Used commonly in Japan for centuries, buckwheat hull neck rolls and pillows have been used to ensure healthy, restful sleep. Despite the name, buckwheat is not a grain, but a fruit (fagopyrum esculentum) that is related to rhubarb. Hulls are hypo-allergenic and very few people are allergic to buckwheat hull pillows. Unlike other pillow fillers, buckwheat hulls do not compress during the night, but move freely to adjust to the shape of the neck and head and provide firm, yet gentle support in all directions, eliminating muscle strain and pressure points. Air is allowed to circulate throughout, helping the neck roll to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Buckwheat hulls do not wear out or break down from frequent use. Rather, they become polished which allows them to move and conform better to contours of the head and neck.
