Detailed Product Description:
Table tennis rackets, also known as paddles or bats, are composed of two unique elements. The "blade" and the "rubber".
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was formed in Berlin in 1926 to set and standardize the rules of this relatively new sport. There are specific requirements concerning the composition of the blade and the rubber and foam covering, but the otherwise the rules state: "The racquet may be of any size, shape, or weight but the blade shall be flat and rigid". The interpretation of these parameters has resulted in unlimited choice of blades and paddles on the market today.
For a beginner, this can be overwhelming. Most professionals recommend that a good all around racket is the best way to start. A new player should find the grip and style of play that is most comfortable for them. Only after one is familiar with the game, should the investigation of specialized rackets and techniques be explored. Killerspin recognizes this dilemma, and has developed a complete line of rackets, blades and rubbers for all levels of player skills.
There are two main grip types commonly used in ping pong. Each of these two types has several variations. The shakehand grip is achieved by "shaking hands" with the racket, hence the name. This grip is also referred to as a "tennis grip".
The Killerspin Smash is an advanced competition racket with an equal combination of speed and spin. Assembled this racket with 5-ply limba koto and abachi woods and top-end rubbers. Additionally, Speed Enhancement Technology, SET, increases handle flexibility, which generates up to 15 percent more powerful shots with better control.
