Joseph Pilates original pilates chair design had one spring loaded pedal, but STOTT PILATES has modified the chair to include two pedals that can be used independently or locked together and used as one pedal. This modification allows for more pilates exercises and expanded potential of the pilates machine. This pilates fitness machine uses spring resistance rather than weights that many other traditional workout machines have. The springs provide gradual resistance as the muscles contract and places less stress on the tendons and ligaments.
The following series of pilates DVDs are available as an additional option.
Essential Stability Chair
This uniquely challenging series of exercises increases torso strength while furthering the mind-body connection. The pilates DVD is 179 minutes long with a 34 minute pilates workout covering 19 exercises.
Intermediate Stability Chair
Building on the Essential level foundations, Moira shows you how to achieve greater neuromuscular control. The pilates DVD is 182 minutes long with a 36 minute pilates workout covering 23 exercises.
Advanced Stability Chair
Moira provides clear and precise direction on the ultimate core conditioning exercies performed on the Stability Chair. The pilates DVD is 167 minutes long with a 22 minute pilates workout covering 13 exercises.
