This unique concept was born from personal distress. After 30 odd years of battling agonizing back pain, former model Petro Groenewald became convinced that a flat mattress was often a back pain sufferer's worst enemy. She noted that pillows or a piece of foam under her lower back area eased her suffering almost immediately. A decade of private research was commenced, including undertaking a degree in Physiology focusing on the spine and muscular system in order to talk to medical professionals in their own terminology.
Scientifically researched and developed, and published in the SOUTH AFRICAN MEDICAL JOURNAL, the Klass Vaki is a revolution proven to be of benefit - whether you suffer lower back pain, bedsores, spinal cord injuries, displaced vertebrae or a host of other ailments, including relief from the pain associated with lying down when suffering osteoporosis. Great success has also been noted with sufferers of scoliosis. Petro is slowly winning her battle. Her Klass Vaki has even been used with success at the University of Pretoria in their Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Principal Specialist, Dr J P Pretorius states: "We would like to confirm that patients seem to experience less pain and feel more comfortable on Klass Vaki."
The Klass Vaki is designed to gently hug and support the important muscles of the back and lower lumbar area, and to diminish the "suspension bridge" usually apparent between the shoulders and hips. It has been specifically designed to release muscle spasms, which is a breakthrough since 90% of all back pain originates in the muscles. It can also help to slow the heart rate while sleeping, and relax the whole body.
The Klass Vaki is a polyurethane, pressure-equalizing body support, composed of specially contoured quadruple foam. It is simply placed on top of your ordinary mattress (which should be in good condition) when used therapeutically. The densities of foam and sizes vary to accommodate all body sizes.
A fabulous advantage to the Klass Vaki is that it is lightweight, and portable. It can easily be packed into its carry bag and taken with you on holidays or business trips.
